Safer Internet Day Competition 2012
In February this year, as part of Safer Internet Day (SID) 2012 celebrations, Insafe launched two competitions. Children and young people were invited to submit posters or short videos promoting the safe use of the internet, or based on the SID 2012 theme of ‘Connecting generations’. The response was fantastic, resulting in just over 600 entries across both competitions in all age categories from 4 until 18 years old.
ISFE participated in the final judging panel who met in April to review the entries after a shortlisting process. In total 18 winners were selected, the top three in each age category for both of the competitions. A couple of winners were also invited to attend the Insafe Conference in Cyprus, where they shared their work and discussed their views on internet safety. During a ceremony at the conference, these winners were also awarded with prizes and certificates.
